HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/18/1957 Business Meeting208 MARCH 18, 1957 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Alderson, Corprpissioners Schutt and Mathews and Assistant City Attorney Loy present on roll call. The minutes.of the regular meeting of March 11, 1957 and adjourned meeting of March 13, 1957 were approved as read. Bids having been received March 11, 1957 for the sale of one Stutz Pumper owned by the Fire Department and the bid of Russell Duffield of Moxee City in amount of $165.00 being the highest and best bid, it was moved by Schutt and seconded by Mathews that said bid be accepted: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll ca]_)_. Bids having been received March 11, 1957 for the purchase of street traffic paint and the Superintendent of the Street Department recommending that the award for said purchase be made to the Fuller Paint Company in amounts of - 750 gals. white @ $2.06 per gal. 450 It yellow @ 2.85 ti tf it was Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that said award be made: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. One bid having been received from W. H. Hornbuckle of Yakima in amount of $225.00 for the purchase and removal of one complete dwelling at the Airport; it was moved by Schutt and seconded by Mathews that said bid be accepted: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Bids having been received March 11, 1957 for bodily injury, property damage and fire and theft insurance for the City of Yakima and the bid of the Goldade Insurance Agency being the lowest and best bid on $100,000/$300,000 Bodily Injury, $10,000.00 Property Damage at $2812.67 and fire and theft on all city equiprpent at $544.56, it was moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that said bid be accepted: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. The Lease between the City of Yakima and Loren H. Miller expiring in April, said lease covering Water Department property, beingg a portion of Tract 23, State Addition to the. City of Yakima, No. 2, consisting of 1O acres more or less of fruit lands at a rental of 30% of the gross fruit sales of the 1957 crop and it being advisable to renew said lease, it was moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to enter into a renewal of same: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that Ordinance No. 2006 fixing the time of delinquency and prescribing the form of bonds for L.I.D. No. 833, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -2006. AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 833, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. . Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that Ordinance No. 2007 fixing the time of . delinquency and prescribing the form of bonds for L.I.D. x834, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -2007.
