The minutes-of the regular meeting of January 21, 1957 were approved as read.. An Ordinance granting D. S.. Peck, now of Scranton Pennsylvania a non - exclusive franchise for a term of 15 years, to establish, maintain and operate a motor coach transportation system.-over the streets of the City of Yakima for the transportation of passengers and mail, for hire as a common carrier and requiring the submission of said ordinance to the vote of ,the people was read ,for the second .time by the Clerk. No action.was taken on this reading. Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that Ordinance No. B -1993, after having been read in its entirety, said ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of $400,000 of general obligation bonds of the city for the - purpose of providing funds to contribute toward the cost of constructing and equipping a new Regional Library Building as pro- vided in Ordinance No. B -1924 and as approved by the qualified electors of the city at a special election held therein on November 6, 1956, providing the date, form terms and maturities of said bonds and for unlimited tax levies to pay the principal thereof and interest thereon, be passed as. read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1993, AN ORDINANCE of the City of Yakima, Washington, providing for the issuance and sale of $400000 of general obligation bonds of the city for the purpose of providing funds to contribute toward the cost of constructing and equipping a new Regional Library.Building as provided in Ordinance No. B -1924 and as approved by the qualified electors of the city at a special election held therein on November 6, 19560 providing the date, form, terms and maturities of said bonds and for unlimited.tax levies to pay the principal thereof and interest thereon and declaring,.an emergency. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that we do now adjourn to meet again at 2 o'clock p.m. on this same day, January 28, 1957: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, MONDAY, JANUARY 28, 19572 2 O'CLOCK P.M. The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Alderson, Commissioners Schutt and Mathews present on roll call. Ordinance No. B -1992 having been read for the second time in it's entirety at the regular Monday morning meeting, January 28, 1957, and it being deemed to be to the best interest of the City of Yakima to further negotiate the non - exclusive franchise for the operation of a motor coach transportation system over the streets of the City of Yakima. it was MOVED by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that said ordinance be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Bids having been received on January 21, 1957 at a regular meeting of the City Commissio for Diesel Fuel, Kerosene, Solvent, Oils and Greases, Asphalt Products, and PS 300 Oil, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that the following awards be made: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Diesel Fuel Kerosene Solvent Oils & Greases Asphalt Products PS 300 Heating Oil Ken Fields Oil Company Tidewater Associated Tidewater Associated Texaco Oil Co., Union Oil Company Western Fuel Company A Resolution providing for a special election to be held in the City of Yakima on Tuesday, March 26, 1957 and prescribing the form of ballot, on Ordinance No. B -19 ";2 which provides for a franchise. with D.S. Peck for a transportation system in the City of Yakima, was read by the City Clerk. Said resolution was taken under advisement by the City Commission. The City Engineer having reported the completion of the King Street Irrigation District being L.I.D. #837, by the contractor, it was MOVED by Mathews seconded by Schutt that the City'Engineer be instructed to prepare the assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll for February 18, 1957, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -1994 fixing the time of de- linquency and prescribing the form of bonds of L.I.D. 828 being the alley paving for Blodks 89 and 25 et al, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1994, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 828, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -1995 fixing the time of de- linquency and prescribing the form of bonds for L.I.D. 841, being Lots 1 to 13 Chestnut Park Curb;_: and Gutter District be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1995, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 841, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Alderson, seconded by Schutt that W. M. Yeaman, now a member of the City Library Board be appointed to serve the unexpired term of Dr. Orval Peterson on the Yakima Valley Regional Library Board, said term expiring December 31, 1957 and that Mrs. Winfield Boyd, now a member of the City Library Board also be appointed to serve on the Yakima Valley Regional Library Board as per the agreement between the City of Yakima and the Yakima Valley Regional Library Board: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting _93 F- 94 I JANUARY 289 1957 aye on roll call. Moved by Alderson, seconded by Schutt that Mrs. Reba Mc Ardle be appointed to serve on the City Library Board which now has a vacancy due to the resignation of Dr. Orval Peterson: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the City.Clerk be and is hereby authorized to call:for bids on approximately 25 tons of Kiln Dried Salt to be delivered in 50 pound paper bags, said bids to be received on or before February 11, 1957 at the hour of 10 o1clock a.m. at which time said bids will be opened and considered: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that we do now adjourn to meet again in regular session on Monday, February 42 1957 at the hour of 8 o'clock p.m.: carried, Alderson Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
