This being the first Monday in the month of December, it was MOVED by Mathe:ias, seconded by Alderson that we adjourn to meet again in regular session at 8 o'clock p. m. on this same day; carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent. ADJOURNED .MEETING, MONDAY, DECEMBER 3, 1956, 8.01CLOCK P.M. The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Alderson, Commissioners Schutt and Mathews and City Attorney Hawkins present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of November 26, 1956 and adjourned meeting thereof were approved as read. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Resolution No. C =1437 fixing the time for the hearing on the petition of John W. Maloney et ux for the vacation of the Westerly 130 feet of the alley in Block 330, Capital Addition, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on December 24, 1956, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting; aye on roll call. ALDERSON Mayor On April 4th, 1955 a public hearing was held to consider the proposed plat known as Rolling Green, proposed plat having been submitted by J. Botsford et u.x, and said plat was approved with modifications. The subdivider now submitting the final plat for approval, it was 14OVED by Mathews, '`secorided`b-y''Scriutt that we do now accept the modified plat known as "Botsford'f's Rolling Green: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. A letter from the City Planning Commission requesting the rezoning of property situated on the North and South sides of Mavis Avenue from Crdcent Drive to Congdon Canal, from "A" Residence, Area 1 to "B" Residence, Area 1, was read by the Clerk -, said matter to be considered by the Commission and referred to the City Attorney for an ordinance. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Resolution No. C- -,1438 authorizing the City of Yakima to proceed with the planning and surveying incident to the construction, operation and maintenance of the industrial waste sewer program and au-thorizinzr the city to apply for and receive federal aid in connection therewith, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C- 1138, A RESOLUTION authorizing the City of Yakima to proceed with the planning and surveying incident.to the construction, operation ' and maintenance of the industrial waste sewer program, and authorizing the city to apply for and receive federal aid in connection therewith. WHEREAS, various canneries within the city of Yakima are dis- charging waste in the sanitary sewer system of the City of Yakima, thereby resulting in the overloading of the existing sewer system; and WHEREAS these canneries have been granted temporary permits by the State pollution control commission to operate as in the past by discharging their waste in the sanitary sewer- system until August 1, 1957, and WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and proper and will be in the best interests of the city to construct, operate, and maintain industrial waste sewage facilities to take care of the waste from these canneries, NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the city engineer is hereby authorized to pro- ceed with the planning and surveys deemed necessary for the construction, operation and maintenance of the industrial waste sewage project to the end that said project shall be completed as soon as possible. Section 2. It is the expressed intention of the city commission to apply for and receive federal aid to assist in the financing of said industrial waste sewer program, and the appropriate city officials are hereb -,r authorized to prepare and submit said application and receive any funds forthcoming from the federal government in connection with said project. No. 830, by the contractor, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that the work be accepted and the City Engineer be and is hereby instructed to prepare the Assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on the assessment roll for December 31, 1956 at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Alderson Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. C -1439, A RESOLUTION authorizing the mayor to execute certain option agreements on behalf of the City in connection with the acquisition of land for the proposed industrial waste sewer project. j WHEREAS, the city is desirous of using certain lands inconnectior with its industrial waste sewer project, and WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary that certain lands be acquired for the above mentioned purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City those certain option agreements with Laurence H. Sanford and Grace Sanford, husband and wife, and Clara D. Sanford, a single woman, giving the City the right to purchase certain lands described therein for the sum of $500.00 per acre, said option agreements to be in the form.to be approved by the City Attorney. Graham for tract of land 1,750.00 Leo A. Daly.& Associates partial payment in accordance with agreement dated 4/30/56 3,044.93 Leland S. harris for tract of land. 250.00 Schreiner Title Company 113.75 carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
