The minutes of the adjourned meeting of August 15, 1956 were approved as read. This being the time for receiving bids on L.I.D-. No, b44, being the 5th Avenue South Curb and Gutter District, the following bids were received: De' Blasio Bros, Schedule 1 $13,725.00 Columbia Asphalt Paving Co., Schedule 2 43u,735.00 Perry Hayes Schedule 2 032,bu7.00 Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that these bids be referred-to the City Engineer for recommendation: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that It is to the best interest or the City of Yakima and necessary in the extention or the airport runway, to sell one complete dwelling unit located at the Yakima Municipal Airport and that City Clerk is hereby instructed to call ror bids on said dwelling unit, said property to be offered "as is" and "where is" and to be paid 1­or at the time of acceptance of said bid: carried, ° Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -1922 relating to the municipal sewage system and providing for an alternative procedure for extention, expansion, and addition of said sewer system, be passed as read: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye,on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1922, AN ORDINANCE relating to the municipal sewage system and providin . for an alternative procedure for extension, expansion, and addition of said sewer system and providing the metriod of financing thereof; and declaring an emergency. Moved by riathews, seconded by Schutt that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and in- structed to give notice to bidders by publication as required by law for the purchase of 1 - self propelled pulvi mixer, 1 - sel propelled pneumatic tired roller, 1 - brush chipper, 1 - leaf collector for the Street Department; said equipment to be available fo delivery as of January 1, 1957 and said bids to be received on or before the 4th day of September, 1956 at the hour of b o'clock p.m.: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, WEDNESDAY, August 22, 1956, 10 O'clock A.M The Uity Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Behnke, Commissioners Schutt and Mathews-and Assistant Attorney Carl Loy present on roll call. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the bid of De Blasio Bros., in the aluount of $13,'125.00, Schedule 1, be accepted to construct curbs and butters for L.I.D. No. 644 and the bid of Columbia Asphalt Paving Company, in the amount of• $3u,735.00, Schedule 2, be accepted to construct the surracing in the same Local Improvement District, being the 5th Avenue South Curb and Gutter District, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a�contraet in each instance on behalf' or the City of Yakima ror doing said work upon the filing of the proper bonds as provided by law: carried,k Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Tne minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 2U, 1956, were approved as read. This being the time ror receiving the bids for furnishing cast iron pipe, fittings, nydrants and various appurtenances for the Municipal Water System of the City of Yakima and said bids having been received, opened and read by the City Clerk; it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that said bids be turned over to the Superintendent of the Water Department ror tabulation and recommendation, report on said bids to be made on Wednesday, August 29, 1956 at 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Behnke, Scriutt and iviathews voting aye on roll call.
