The City Commission met in regular session,
Mathews and City Attorney, Hawkins present
The minutes of the regular meeting of July
11 1956, were approved as read.
Mayor Behnke, Commissioners Schutt and
on roll call.

Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the City Engineer having reported the completion
of the Clinton Way Curb,<,Gutter and Surfac.z District, L.I.D. No. 819 by the contractor,
said work is hereby accepted and the City Engineer instructed to prepare the assessment
roll for said district and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing to be
held at 8 o'clock p.m.., Tuesday, the 4th day of September 1956: carried, Behnke, Schutt
and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
This being the time for the hearing on assessment roll covering L.I.D. No. 825, North
2nd Street Curb and Gutter District, and there being no objection to said assessment roll
in writing or otherwise, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded 'by Schutt that Ordinance No.
B -1915, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read:
carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
`ORDINANCE NO. B -1915, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local
Improvement District No. 825 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1754 of the
Ordinances of the City of Yakima.
This being the time for the hearing on assessment roll covering L.I.D. No. 829, 26th
Avenue South Curb and Gutter District and there being objections to same but it being
legally insufficient, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No.
B -1916, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read:
carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1916, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local
Improvement District No. 829 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1783 of the
Ordinances of the City of Yakima.
This being the time for the hearing on Assessment roll covering Local Improvemment
District No. 836, Plath Avenue Sewer District, and there being no objections to said
assessment roll in writing or otherwise it was MOVED by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that
Ordinance No. B -1917 confirming said _assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed
as read: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1917, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local
Improvement District No. 836 as created and established by Ordinance,No. 8-1858 of the
Ordinances of the City of Yakima.
This being the time for the hearing on petition of R. E. Maddox and Frances E. Maddox,
husband and wife, to plat that part of the West half of the Southeast Quarter, South-
west quarter, Section 22 of Township 13, Range 18, E.W.M. more fully described in the
petition, and it being found that only 25 feet had been dedicated for streets, it was
MOVED by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that the Street Engineer contact the adjoining
property owner . to see if another 25' would be dedicated for the street and if the plat
as presented conformes with other(- property surrounding it and that the Street Engineers
findings be reported at a later date: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give
notice to contractors for grading, ballasting and constructing concrete curbs and gutters
on 5th Avenue South and other streets more fully set forth in Ordinance No. B -1913,
creating L.I.D. No. 844; said bids to be received on or before Monday, August 20, 1956,
at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews votirL aye on roll
call.
Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that the report of the Investment Committee for
investments purchased during the month of July, 1956 be approved as follows:

The resolution received from the Yakima Valley Regional Library asking for a $400,000.00
bond issue was deferred for future consideration of the City Commission. TYiis resolution
was not read_.
Moved by Mathews, seconded 'by Schutt that the damage claim in the amount of $1,000.00
filed with the City Clerk by the East Side Church of Christ, claiming that the City
Engineer's of'f'ice had misinformed them on the depth of sewer line necessitating the in-
stallation of a sewage disposal pump which cost $1,000.00, be rejected and the City
Clerk instructed to notify the claimant of such action: carried, Behnke, Schutt and
Mathews voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Schutt, seconded by Behnke that Resolution No. C -1L�00 providing that the
Finance Commissioner be appointed as a member of the Finance Committee of the City of
Yakima, be passed as read: Carried; Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
