Moved by Schutt that the minutes of the ad.journed. meeting of June 13, 1956, be passed as read: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. This being the time for the hearing on assessment roll, L.I.D. No. 832, and there being no protest in writing or otherwise it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -1897, confirming said assessment roll, and every part thereof be passed as read: carried, Behnke, Mathews and Schutt voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1897, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 832 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1820 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. The City Engineer having reported the completion of the Chestnut Park Domestic Water System, L.I.D. No. 824, by the contractor, said work is hereby accepted and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an assessment roll for said district, and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, July 16, 1956 at 10 6'cl6ck a.m.: carried, Behnke, Schutt and. Mathews voting aye on roll call. An ordinance was introduced providing for the expenditure of $6,000.00, funds not pro- vided for in the 1956 budget for the payment of salary, not more than $500.00 per month, for the assistant purchasing agent and personnel manager. As required by law and the city charter, this ordinance was read in full and laid on the table for one week. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the application of Paul Probach for extension of time of employment to July 1, 1957 as per law governing the Statewide City Employees Retirement System, be granted: carried, Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Resolution No.-C-1397 providing for the loan of $50,000.00 from the "Water Fund" to the "Airport Improvement Fund" also providing for the rate of interest on said loan and repayment thereof, be passed as read: Behnke, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1397, A RESOLUTION providing for the loan of a su.m of money from the "Water Fund" to the "Airport Improvement Fund." providing for the rate of interest for said loan, and the repayment thereof. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has heretofore by Ordinance No. B -1482 created an "Airport Improvement Fund" for the purpose among other things of pro- viding funds for the improvement of the airport, and WHEREAS, the 'ity of Yakima contemplates the vacation of a por- tion of Washington Avenue, the extension of the existing runway and the construction of high intensity lighting, and otherwise improving the airport, and WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this and take advantage of Federal matching funds, it; is necessary to establish in said Airport Improvement Fund sufficient funds to carry said project to completion and WHEREAS, the funds hereby advanced are to be repaid by December 31, 1956, to the Water Department fund by funds made available to the Airport Improve- ment Fund by the Federal Government upon completion of the project, and thus there will be sufficient funds in the future to repay said loan in the amount hereinafter authoriz- ed, and WHEREAS, the Water Fund has funds which are available and the City Commission deems it to be for the best interests of the City of Yakima that said water fund make the loan hereinafter provided for , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the vity Commission of the City of Yakima that the Water Fund. transfer and loan to the Airport Improvement Fund the sum of $50,000.00, as needed, said loan to draw interest at the rate of 4% per annum payable on completion of the proposed, airport improvement above referred to and said loan to be repayable from the funds to be made available by the Federal Government upon the completion of said project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the `'ity Treasurer make the neceasary transfer from the Water Fund to the Airport Improvement Fund as herein authorized and provided for. day of June, 1956. ATTEST: J. A.
