The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday April 2, 1956, were approved as read.. This being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a sewer on South 5th Avenue in L. I. D. No. 834, the following were received: Buck - Edinger Trucking Co., Inc. X27,819.05 N. L. :Kimball $30,991.06 Carroll & Sanislo X24,481.41 C & S. Construction CO., $20,694.75 said bids were turned over to the City Engineer for compilation. This being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a bridge across the Pacific Power & Light Company's Wasteway at 16th Avenue North and Cherry Avenue, the following were received: N. L. Kim N. L. Kimball $ 2,656.25 Jake Leingang $ 32166.25 said bids were turned over the the City Engineer for compilation This being the time for receiving bids for the construction of the King Street Irriga- tion District, L.I.D. No. 837, the following were received: Buck- Edinger,.on Steel Pipe X17,376.75 Asbestos Cement X18,124.75 Carroll & Sanislo, on Steel pipe $15,042.92 Asbestos Cement $15,573.88 De Blasio Bros, on Steel Pipe y14,229.34- Asbestos Cement 4,14,830.70 said bids were turned over to the City Engineer for compilation. This being the time for receiving bids for the purchase of traffic paint for the City Street Department, the following were received: W. P. Fuller Co., 650 gallons of White paint $1,436.50 350 ga_Llons of Yellow Paint $1,046.50 Norris - Walker, White paint $1,319.50 Yellow Paint 4 913.50 General Paint Co., White paint $2,067.00 Yellow paint 01,477.00 Edward T. Kropp, on Bauer Formula White paint $1,651.00 Yellow paing X1,123.50 Action on said bids was held in abeyance until a further date. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to call for bids for the construction of an 8 inch concrete pipe gravity line; a 6 inch concrete pipe overflow line, an ejector unit installed in a special manhole and a 6 inch asbestos cement pipe pressure line discharging into the existing sewer located on the north side of Nob Hill Boulevard; said bids to be received on Monday, the 23rd day of April, 1956: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1352, providing for the construc- tionof a domestic water system in the Burrows Suburban Tracts,and there being no objec- tions to said improvement, or any part thereof; it wasMOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No. B -1868, creating L.I.D. No. 838, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1868, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima by construction of a domestic water system, establishing a local improve- ment district, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that a hearin be had on Monday the 16th day of April, 1956, for the purpose of changing Lots 1 to 19, inclusive, Petzel Addition from "A" Residence District, Area 2, to "B Residence District, Area 1: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that Resolution No. C -1364, providing for the vacation of the East 12.5 feet of the West 306.25 feet of the South 111.7 feet of the North 136.7 feet of Lot 16, of the Plat of Section 36 -13 -18 E.W.M., be adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. C -1364 A RESOLUTION fixing the time for hearing on Petition for Vacation of Street. WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Commission of the City of Yakima, a municipal Corporation, praying for the vacation of a portion of a street r I ill 1 D 1 1 1 APRIL 9? 1956 described as follows, to -wit: The East 12.5 feet of the West 306.25 feet of the South 111.7 feet of the . North 136.7 feet of Lot 16, of the Plat of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M., situate in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That'sadd_peti -tion shall be brought on for hearing and determination on Monday, the 7th day of May, 1956, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock a.m. in the forenoon on said day at the office of the City Commission of the City of Yakima, at the City Hall in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as provided by law. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that Resolution No. C -1365, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a lease on behalf of'-the City of Yakima, with Leo DeLorme of Fractional Lot 9, Block 62, to be used solE%T for free public parking purposes and for maintenance of a parking area, be adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and. Huey voting' aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1365, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and City Clerk, on behalf of said city, are hereby authorized and directed. to execute a lease to Leo Delorme of the following described property in said city: Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 9, Block 62, Original Townsite of North Yakima, now Yakima; thence northwesterly 46 feet, more or less, to a point which is 14 feet south measured at right angles from the face of the curb on East "I Street; thence east parallel with East "I" Street to the north line of said Lot'9; thence southwesterly along said northerly line to point of beginning; said property being owned by the city and not presently needed for any other purpose, in consideration of $1.00 rent, for an indefinite term subject to revocation by the city at any future time, said propery to be used solely for free public parking pur- poses and for maintenance of a parking area, and the Lessee to avoid any unsightly appearance thereof and to keep the same reasonably free and clear of weeds and other noxious growths; a copy of said lease being attached hereto and incorporated by re- ference herein. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the bid of DeBlasio Bros., in the sum of $14,830.70, for Asbestos Cement pipe for the construction of the King Street Irrigation District, be accepted, as the lowest and best bid, and the Mayor and City Clerk in- structed to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima, for doing said work upon receipt of the filing of the proper bond therefore: carried, Burns and Huey voting aye-on roll call. Huza absent. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the bid of N. L. Kimball, in the sum of $2,656.25,1 for the construction of the Bridge across the Pacific Power & Light Companyts Wasteway at 16th Avenue North and cherry Street be accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk in- structed to execute a contract on behalf of the City of df Yakima, for doing said work upon receipt of the filing of the proper bond therefor: carried, burns and Huey voting:-aye on.roll'call. Huza absent Moved by Huey, second by Burns that the C. & S. Construction Company in the sum of $20,694.75 for the construction of a sewer district in L.T.D. No. 834, is hereby accepted and the Mayor and Cl_ty Clerk instructed to execute a contract on behalf of the .City of Yakima for doing said work upon receipt of the filing of the proper bond therefor: carried, Burn and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the bid of Norris - Walker Paint Mfg. Co. for 650 gallons of White Paint in the sum of 61,319.50 and 350 gallons of Yellow paint in the sum of $913.50: carried, Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent.
