The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 5, 1956, were approved as read. This being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a sewer project in Petzel Addition, L.I.D. No. 832, the following were received: Carroll do Sanislo. $2,643.77 Buck Edinger Trucking Company 39,510.85 N. L. Kimball 2,543.25 Paul R. Henley 2,048.66 it was MOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that the bid of Paul.R. Henley, in the sum of $2,048.66, be accepted as the lowest and beat bid, and the Mayor and City Clerk author- ized to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work upon the filing of the proper bond therefor: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. This being the time for receiving bids for the purchase of three (3) new automobiles for the Police Department, the following bid was received: Burrows Motor Company, three 1956 Ford Mainline Fordor Sedans at $2,232.28 each or a total of $6,696.84, less trade ins of $2,100.00, leaving a total of $4,596.84 for the three cars; it was MOVED by Huza, second. ed by Huey that said bid be accepted: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that Resolution No. C -1351, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a lease between said City and Joe R. Holthaus, for the orchard at Tahoma Cemetery; said lease to.run from December 31, 1955, for a rental of 10% of the gross returns from the crops grown thereof and upon such terms and conditions for a period of one year ending December 31, 1956,_as more fully described and set forth in said lease, be adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO..0 -1351, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a written lease between said City as Lessor and Joe R..Holthaus as Lessee, on that certain orchard situate in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, described as follows, to -wit: The South half of the South half of the,Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 35, Township 13 North.-Range-18 E.W.M. ; for a period of one year ending December 31, 1956, for a rental­of 10% of the gross re- turns from the crops grown thereon, and upon the terms and conditions�in said lease more'I fully stated, a copy thereof being attached hereto. No. 835., and there being no ob- jections in writing or otherwise to said improvement, or any part thereof; it was MOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No. B- 1856,providing for said improvement,be passed as read: carried, .Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1856, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of certain property by constructing a pipe sewer with the necessary wye branches and manholes; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment thereof; and creating a special fund*- Moved by Huza, seconded-by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1857, fixing the time of delinquen ey of installments of assessments in L.I.D. No. 784, be passed as read: carried,.Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1857, AN-ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 784, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huza, seconded by-Huey that Ordinance No. B -1858, providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for the purchase of sacks, sand and other suitable materials for sand bags for protection against a threatened flood, be passed as read: carried, Burns, .Huza and Huey voting aye on -roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1858, AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for the purchase of sacks, sand and other suitable materials for sand bags for pratectic against a threatened flood, and declaring an emergency. An ordinance providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for the employment of an additional clerk in the City Clerk's office, was introduced and read in full by the City Clerk, and laid on the table for one week: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
