Only one contractor (Ken Leingang Construction.) was interested in bidding. His first estimated bid was $60,500.00. We then solicited bids from contractors that were already under city contracts. One was Strider construction and I received a phone quote of $120,000.00 for the repair_ The other bid was from Apollo Inc. with a bid price of $66,900.00. I asked Ken Leingang to give us a firm written bid and it was $63,995.00: Based on this and our policy for hiring off the small works roster ]Ken Leingang has the low bid and my recommendation is to award this work to them. Attached to this memo is all the documentation for soliciting the bids. Then scope of work is detailed in the bid proposal from Ken Leingang Excavating. We treed to get this work done before irrigation season begins to limit the amount of dewatering required for this project. 03/02/2007 12:44 5095756116 YAKIMA WWTP PAGE 03 Ken Leingang Excavating, Inc.
