Some of the Southeast Yakima Community Center's Girls Leadership Camp Participants are in the audience this evening to observe their City government at work. They do not need to be introduced or called up front, but if you could greet them and acknowledge their presence we would appreciate it very much. They range in age from 11 to 14. The girls are completing the Camp, and have had many different "first time" experiences this summer. They have had several enriching field trips such as a visit to Heritage University and visits to private businesses like the Coca Cola Company. They have also been exposed to several community leaders who have taught them leadership and personal behavior skills that will serve to enhance their potential for life success. They have also engaged in academic exercises and have been encouraged to be excellent students. Leaders of the group are Rosie Lee SECC Staff and Ms. Janeya Anderson and Ms. Valencia Johnson, Davis High School Students and Ms. Taylor Gutheridge of Eisenhower High School. Janeya, Valencia and Taylor were provided summer jobs through the annual 100 Jobs for 100 Kids Campaign of which you are familiar. Thank you .... Est uey, SECC
