SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
This project consisted of making drainage improvements to Englewood Ave. The work
consisted of minor widening, installation of curb and gutter, catch basin, storm drain pipe,
infiltration trenches, pre- treatment manhhole, paving with hot mix asphalt and other work.
The additional cost associated with this project was related to the City's decision to "bore"
under the property instead of "open trenching" as originally planned. This was due to time
constricts with winter weather approaching and avoiding the destruction of private property.
There were concerns that sod could not be installed in time and established, as well as tree
purchasing and planting. In the end, this produced a better project for the property owners
while still remaining under budget.
Final inspection for this project was made and the recommendation is that the project be
accepted.
This Council action is to accept the project and approve the final construction costs.
