HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/05/2013 05D Englewood Ave. Drainage Improvements, Final Contract Payment, TTC Construction, LLC eā€”"sA 1 BUSINESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL YAKIMA, WASHINGTON AGENDA STATEMENT S Item No. For Meeting of: March 5, 2013 ITEM TITLE: Final Contract Payment for TTC Construction, LLC - 2345- ' Englewood Ave. Drainage Improvements (Standard Motion V -B- Accept the project and approve the final payment) SUBMITTED BY: Scott Schafer - Wastewater Division Manager CONTACT Randy Meloy - Stormwater Engineer - 509 - 576 -6606 PERSON /TELEPHONE: SUMMARY EXPLANATION: This project consisted of making drainage improvements to Englewood Ave. The work consisted of minor widening, installation of curb and gutter, catch basin, storm drain pipe, infiltration trenches, pre- treatment manhhole, paving with hot mix asphalt and other work. The additional cost associated with this project was related to the City's decision to "bore" under the property instead of "open trenching" as originally planned. This was due to time constricts with winter weather approaching and avoiding the destruction of private property. There were concerns that sod could not be installed in time and established, as well as tree purchasing and planting. In the end, this produced a better project for the property owners while still remaining under budget. Final inspection for this project was made and the recommendation is that the project be accepted. This Council action is to accept the project and approve the final construction costs.
