Executive Minutes • Update on downtown events Hawkins updated the Committee on three new events happening downtown through the City's special event fund: - Downtown Summer Nights Concert Series — June 13 — Aug 29 on 4 Street - Lunchtime Live — June 7th — August 30th at Performance Park - Weekday Farmer's Market — July 23 He also discussed two new activities that have applied to be held downtown: - 5k Run — April 13 throughout downtown sponsored by Pacific Northwest University - Car show and cruise the ave — June 22 — sponsored by Apple Valley Kiwanis • Update on downtown parking changes Hawkins reported that • Downtown master plan Davenport and 0' Rourke reported that Downtown Master Plan selection committee had chosen Crandall Arambula for the design portion of the project and Thomas Consultants for the retail portion of the project. A contract will come to the council in April for these services after City staff narrows the scope of work and timeline down into a contract. Both of these firms working together will create a "super star" team to complete our Downtown Master Plan. • Mill site update • Airport update 0' Rourke updated the committee members on the legislation coming to them to create the Department of Airport. Hawkins updated them on the status of the work performed by Airplanners. The next Airplanners public session will be March 12 at the Yakima Convention Center. Business owner and frequent travelers will be the target of the session. • Economic development prospect update 0' Rourke and Hawkins update the committee members on a potential fruit processor looking at Yakima and that they would meet with the company representatives and New Vision representatives on Monday, March 4th
