The Board will consider whether it wishes to leave the ballot proposition establishing a vehicle license registration fee, as previously approved by the Board, to go to the voters of Yakima during a special election on April 23, 2013, or to move the ballot measure to the City primary election date scheduled to occur on August 6, 2013. The only other remaining election option the Board may wish to consider would be the November 5, 2013 general election date. If the Board wishes to change the election date for the ballot measure from the April 23, 2013 date now established, the County Auditor will require receipt of a resolution withdrawing the ballot measure from the election process by no later than March 8, 2013. If the TBD Board directs staff to change the election date during the Special Meeting on January 22nd, the resolutions required to accomplish the withdrawal and re- setting of the of the date of the election for the vehicle license registration fee will be prepared for Board review during the February 5, 2013 Council meeting.
