SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
In order to address budget shortfalls due to reduced City of Yakima revenues anticipated
during the 2013 calendar year the wage freeze for employees in the City of Yakima
Management Group shall be extended through the 2013 calendar year. In order to
accomplish this freeze the City Council must approve legislation cancelling the application of
the Pay and Compensation Adjustment for calendar year 2013. The savings attributable to
the Management Group for the 2013 calendar year wage freeze is estimated to be
approximately $115,000 for each one percent wage adjustment based upon the 2012 pay
ordinance.
