LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES Mr. Rice stated the City's priorities list includes issues which the City either supports or monitors. Referring to the criminal justice tax legislation, Commissioner Flower objected to the City supporting an issue which is detrimental to the County's interest without discussing it with the County. City Manager Zais explained the history of the allowable uses of sales tax sharing. This legislation would allow the City to share some of the revenue from the 0.1% sales tax the County is seeking to be used for the City's jail. This led to a discussion about the County's need to fund regional services such as the juvenile justice center. A shared concern for cities and counties is the legislation which would prohibit public agencies from lobbying before the legislature. UPDATE OF JOINT PRIORITIES Referencing Item 5, Commissioner Flower stated he would include the split representation on the board from the cities and fire districts. Referring to Item 7, Council member Salzman corrected the name SunTran to PTBA Board.
