On June 18, 2012 the Yakima Valley MPO/RTPO Executive Committee approved $5,500,000 in requested STP funds for the City of Yakima's MLK Grade Separation project. This additional funding was approved based on your assurances that the funds could obligated by September 15, 2012. Please note that STP Regional funding awards to jurisdiction projects have historically been considered when calculating YVCOG membership assessments in the YVCOG budget. Please be aware that your jurisdiction's membership assessment may increase when STP funding is awarded for a project. Projects must be included in your local 6 -Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), as well as the State Transportation Improvement Programs (STIP) before these federal funds can be obligated. In order to meet the timeline for obligating these funds, MTIP submissions must be forwarded to YVCOG in time for the July Amendment to the 2012 -2015 MTIP. If you have any questions concerning TIP /STIP amendments, please contact Deb LaCombe, Sr. Transportation Planner at (509) 574 -1550 or lacombed @yvcog.org. As always, the YVCOG is pleased to assist our member jurisdictions to secure the funding necessary to meet their program goals. Sincerely, kA J P:: Scott E '- 'tive Director cc.
