The youth program has requested as "sistance in providing swimming sessions at Franklin Pool for six rentals The cost of these pool rentals is One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200) The resolution would authorize an Inter -Fund Transfer from HOPE 3 Program non - federal funds to the Parks Division to be applied for the reimbursement of the six pool rentals This expenditure of funds is authorized as a low income community service. R -2012- A RESOLUTION authorizing the expenditure of up to One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars from the non - federal funds provided to the Office of Neighborhood Development Services to reimburse the cost of six swimming pool rentals of Franklin Pool for the youth program at Southeast Community Center. WHEREAS, the Southeast Community Center (SECC) provides youth programs for low income children; and WHEREAS, this summer the SECC has requested financial assistance in providing a swim program for the youth program; and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima Office of Neighborhood Development Services (ONDS) has certain non - federal funds from the HOME 3 program available for assisting with community services to Non - Profit organizations; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City of Yakima to provide through an Inter -Fund Transfer from ONDS to the Parks Division up to One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200) to support six swimming pool rentals of Franklin Pool on behalf of the low income youth, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the use of up to One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200) of HOME 3 non - federal funds to support low income youth programs is in accord with Article VIII, Section 7 of the Washington Constitution, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to approve an Inter -Fund Transfer of up to One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200) from ONDS to the Parks Division to be used for six swimming pool rentals of Franklin Pool for the youth program of SECC.
