E REAS, Washington State has great sport legends and heroes with regional;
national and worldwide acclaim; and
WI-PERMS, Tom Parry was born and raised in Seattle attending Queen Anne Nigh
School and lettered in football as a tackle and guard; and
WJf our community wishes to pay tribute to individuals who lived in the
State and maintained their athletic fives of discipline, purpose and ambition; and
WJPER,EAS, Tom Parry is an honored member of the Washington State lfigh School
Coaches 1-fall of Fame, Wenatchee valley College .Mall of Fame, Central Washington
'University 1fall of Fame, and Pacific Northwest Football of Fame; and
`WJFER,EAS, Tom is recognized as a leader and mentor as a coach for Wenatchee
valley College, 'University of Montana, Washington State 'University, Central Washington
'University, and 'Yakima valley Community College.
WOW, DfrEzRrEFORE, I, Micah Cawley, Mayor of the City of 'Yakima, and on behalf
of the City Council; do hereby proclaim June 9, 2012 as
"Tom Parry Day"
in the City of Takima and encourage citizens to recognize the sports legends of our community
and state by attending the Sports Legend Reunion at the Clarion .Motel and Conference Center
in 'Yakima on Friday, June 8t
