EEAS, Crime Stoppers of Yakima County is a non-profit organization primarily
funded by private donations from focal citizens and the business community and made up of
concerned citizens united with the efforts of Caw enforcement agencies; and
`WIPE AS, each year, Crime Stoppers has one major fund raiser —Your Canyon for a
Day dike Tour of the Yakima liver Canyon; and
'WifEEAS, this year's fund raiser is a pefect ride for the who famiCyand can be
started on either the 51rorth- ECCens6urg end or the South - Yakima end on May 20; and
WHEREAS, for a smaCCfee, you can enjoy a 35 -mice round trip ride through the scenic
Yakima liver Canyon —the road follows the Yakima River up a gentle grade with few hiCCs
and the highway will be closed to thru traffic; and
4f i R,EAS, this program spreads the word about fugitives and unsolved crimes,
increasing the chance of capture or solving crimes; and
`WXEREAS, Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards up to $1,000 to people who provide
information which leads to the arrest of felons or solving .of fe Cony crimes;
AVOW DfERETO E, I, Micah Caw Mayor of the City of 'Yakima, and on behalf
of the City Council, do hereby proclaim May 20, 2012 as
