SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The City of Yakima owns real property and improvements at 1816 S 24th Avenue, situated
north of, but not contiguous or to the Yakima Air Terminal. The property has no related
function or purpose in the operation of the Yakima Air Terminal. Neither the City of Yakima
nor the Airport Board has identified any intended use of this land. The Air Terminal Board is
considering an offer to sell the property to a private property owner.
The attached resolution authorizes the City Manager to undertake the required
Environmental Review under SEPA and dispose of the property by appropriate rules and
regulations.

RESOLUTION NO. R -2012-
A RESOLUTION declaring an approximately one -half acre parcel of property at 1816
S 24 Avenue surplus to the uses and needs of the City of Yakima,
in anticipation of proposed sale and conveyance; authorizing the
City Manager to undertake all appropriate reviews of such proposed
action, and to dispose of such property in accordance with
applicable law.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns real property and improvements located at
1816 S 24 Avenue, being approximately one -half acre in area, situated north of
Washington Avenue and West of S 24 Avenue; and
WHEREAS, said property is not contiguous with the Yakima Air Terminal
property and has no related function or purpose in its operations; and
WHEREAS, Yakima Air Terminal Board has received and is considering offer(s)
to purchase this property subject to a fair market value determination and acceptance of
the offer by the City of Yakima and Yakima County; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima finds and determines that the
declaration that such property is surplus to the uses and needs of the city, and that such
declaration is in the best interests of the Yakima Air Terminal and the City of Yakima;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that such declaration of
surplus is in the best interest of residents of the City of Yakima and will promote the
general health, safety and welfare; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
1. The property at 1816 S 24 Avenue legally described in Exhibit "A," is hereby
declared surplus to the uses and needs of the City of Yakima...
2. The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to
undertake any and all appropriate environmental reviews, and to dipose of
such property by any appropriate means authorized by law, including but not
limited to, disposition of said parcel pursuant to a negotiated purchase and
sale agreement with the buyer.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 17th day of April, 2012.
