Wil ERAS, the work for social change and against social injustice is never
ending; and
WJPEREAS, Cesar Chavez endeavored to put an end to farm worker
exploitation, to upgrade working conditions and to reform the agricu(tura( system; and
WI EREAS, Cesar Chavez worked to provide dignity to farm workers and
develop an economic opportunity accessible to air citizens; and
WJPEREAS, the City of Yakima is actively invoked in defending and
preserving racial equality and supporting Cesar Chavez philosophy of non - vio and
S T47IERSE)LS 1 , the month of March 2012 will he set aside to provide awareness
in
recognizing Cesar Chavez as the dubious distinction of one of the great leaders of our
time,
NOW gi- ERETOR , I, Micah Cawley, Mayor of the City of Yakima and
on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim the month of March 2012 as

non - vio philosophy of Cesar Chavez and the principles for which he dedicated his

Yakima.
Bendicion, Musica con Mariachis, Proclamacion del Alcalde de Yakima.
12:00 p.m. Ia marcha empieza al rumbo del Colegio Comunitario de Yakima,
calle sur 16 avenida y W. Nob Hill Blvd.
1:00 p.m. hasta 3:00 p.m. Celebracion "Unidas y Paz" en el salon Kendall.
Bienvenida: Los estudiantes de MECHA.
Festivales: Oradores invitados, Mariachis, Poesfas, exhibicion de arte, comida
mejicana, bailables folkorico con los "Bailadores del Sol ", pinatas y mucho mas.

America, (UFW). Cesar Chavez dedicated his life for social justice. He
was a role model for everyone.
