ADJOURNED MEETING - -PARRS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
The City Council met in session on this date at 11:30 a.m. at the
Holiday Inn. Mayor Pat Berndt, presiding, Council Members
Clarence Barnett, Henry Beauchamp, Bill Brado, Lynn Buchanan, and
Skip Semon present. Council Member Bernard Sims absent and
excused. Parks and Recreation Commission Members Tom Hurson,
Bo Hepler, Mark Graham, and Bob Busse present. Also present was
Ron King. City Staff members present were City Manager Zais;
Assistant City Manager Rice; Public Works Director Copeland; Parks
and Recreation Manager Flaherty; John Marsh, Parks Maintenance;
Denise Nichols, Senior Center; and Deputy City Clerk Skovald.
Parks and Recreation Division's request for an increase of 2% in
the Park's allocation of the Utility In -Lieu Of Tax was discussed.
Major funding issues facing city government and the community over
the next several years were reviewed briefly and discussed. Parks
and Recreation Manager Dave Flaherty outlined a proposed agreement
between the City of Yakima and the Ron King Tournaments. 1992
Programs and Services Report was presented by Parks and Recreation
staff.
