SUBMITTED BY: Michael Morales, Assistant City Manager CONTACT PERSON/TELEPHONE: Michael Morales, 575 -6040 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: In 2010, the City received a SIED planning grant in the amount of $25,000 to begin a community mobilization and visioning process to determine options for infrastructure and public facilities related to North First Street, and also to develop illustrations and cost estimates for recommended improvements. Project consultants Jeffrey Louman (Huibregtse, Louman Associates) and Colie Hough -Beck (HBB Landscape Architecture) worked with the Council Committee and community members through a year -long series of meetings to define the scope of the revitalization effort. Several North First Street business owners served as "Block Captains" for the project. Citizens from throughout the community provided input at a community open house held in May of 2011. The Committee has finalized the brochure. At their meeting on September 29 they acted to forward the report to the full Council for approval. A committee comprised of , City Council Members, business and property owners, and the community developed a vision that provides direction for future public and private investments in North' 1 this corridor.
