ITEM TITLE: Consideration of a resolution setting the time, date and location for a Public Hearing to
be held at 7:00 pm on October 4, 2011 in the City of Yakima Council Chambers to
amend the six -year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
This action would set October 4, 2011 as the date for a public hearing to amend the six -year TIP. An
amendment to the 2011 -2016 six -year TIP is required to allocate additional federal funds for .
construction of the Yakima Grade Separations Project, Phase 2 — Lincoln Avenue.
This amendment will move $2,308,937 of federal funds planned for phase 3 of the Yakima Railroad
Grade Separations to phase 2 of the Yakima Railroad Grade Separations.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff respectfully requests the City Council to set October 4, 2011 as
the date of Public Hearing to amend the six -year TIP.

RESOLUTION NO. R -2011-
A RESOLUTION fixing the time and place of a hearing for October 4, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the
Council Chambers at City Hall to amend the 2011 through 2016 Six -Year
Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six -Year
Transportation Improvement Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the
City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and
Federal law, and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year
Transportation Improvement Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the
City of Yakima; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said amended program before final
approval, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said amended program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday,
October 4, 2011 at the hour of 7:00 PM on said day, in the Council Chambers of the City of
Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be
• heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law.
