Minutes of January 13, 2020

Introduction and Welcome
Lance Forsee convened the monthly meeting of the Yakima Tree Board at 5:02 p.m. at City Hall
in the 2nd Floor Conference Room,129 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, Washington.
Approval of the Meeting Minutes from December 2, 2020
Chip made the motion to approve the previous meeting's minutes, and Lance seconded the
motion.
Street Tree Inventory/Text Amendment Update
Eric will submit the text amendment for a tentative public hearing date of February 4, and will
schedule a public presentation of the tree inventory for either February 4 or March 3.
Staff Report —Chip Rognlie
Chip presented his end of year report. He completed 41 reports in 2019 regarding the health of
individual trees. There are plans to plant 60 more trees on 4th St. this year, and a tree planting
with children at St. Joseph -Marquette Catholic School will result in 18 new street trees, which will
replaced previous trees removed as part of St. Joseph's school renovation project. Chip will once
again man the City's Arbor Fest booth in 2020. He is also beginning to inventory pruning using
the City's Collector app.

Eric is assisting Chip with designing a presentation for Chip's upcoming presentation to Master
Gardeners.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:14 p.m. The next Yakima Tree Board meeting will be held on
Monday, February 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in 2nd Floor Conference Room at City Hall.
