`G ffE12EAS, September 17, 2020, marks the two hundred thirty-third
anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the 'Limited States of America by
the Constitutional Convention; and
WIPEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this
magnificent document and its memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic
celebrations which will commemorate the occasion; and
WIPEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each
year by the President of the 2lnitedStates of America designating September 17
through 23 as Constitution Week; and
'U&IE12EAS, the (Yakima City Council encourages the residents of the City
of(Yakima to study the Constitution and reflect on the privilege of being an
American with all the rights and responsibilities which that privilege involves.

and askourcitizens to reaffirm the ideals the Framers of the Constitution had in
1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian
of our liberties, remembering that lost right may never be regained
