YAKIMA CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING — STUDY SESSION
MAY 19, 2009
8:00 — 9:30 A.M.
COUNCIL CHAMBERS — YAKIMA CITY HALL
1. Roll Call
All Council Members were present. Staff included City Manager Zais and City
Clerk Moore.
2. City of Yakima's budgeting process
City Manager Zais reviewed the information that was included in the Council
packet. A lengthy discussion ensued that focused on: methodology and
practices; a side -by -side comparison of the City and County budget
development processes; and a chart of General Government activities
designating existing service units (cost centers) to each of the Council's
strategic priorities.
ACTION: Motion carried to forward this information to the Budget Committee
for further review and bring a recommendation back to the full Council.
VOTE: Unanimous
3. Audience comments (9:15 — 9:30 a.m.)
No one came forward to speak.
4. Adjournment — 9:28 a.m.
ACTION: Motion carried to adjourn to the Executive Session at 5:00 p.m. to
discuss pending and prospective litigation and property acquisition.
