Additional Services for Concrete Masonry Wall
Dear Mr. Zais
As you are aware, we have been directed by the City to design and obtain pricing on a concrete block
wall to be built at the north lot line of the City -owned property on North 8th Street west of 8th Street.
This type of wall was not required by the existing zoning for the property, but is a requirement
stemming from the hearing examiner's ruling on the SEPA appeal reviewed on 7/25/02. This wall will
be included in a change order to the construction contract.
In addition, per the direction of Glenn Rice, we have designed a wall that could, if the City chooses, be
built between the City property and the residences on the east side of North 8th Street and have asked
the Contractor for a separate price for this work.
Design and engineering of these walls were unanticipated in our original fee proposal, we are
requesting reimbursement for expenses as an additional service. As of this date we have spent a
total of $ 2,059.15, including work by our structural consultant. We anticipate no other expenses
associated with this work.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.

Additional Services for Design and Construction Administration Assistance on Temporary
Offices
Dear Mr. Zais
As you are aware, we have been assisting the City in location, modifications to, and construction
administration for temporary offices for the Convention Center staff. Work has included the following:
■ Initial investigation of costs for leasing a temporary mobile office facility;
• Investigation of utility requirements;
• Research on costs associated with relocation of the City -owned mobile home;
• Construction and permit documents for the temporary office, including code and utility
research and coordination;
■ Securing a contractor for location of the mobile home and construction for utilities,
ramps and other miscellaneous items;
• Coordination and construction administration of the work.
This work was unanticipated in our original fee proposal and we are requesting reimbursement for our
expenses as an additional service. As of this date we have spent a total of $ $2,295.00 and anticipate
approximately another $2,000 before construction of the temporary offices is complete. We would
suggest billing on a time and expense basis not to exceed $4,300.00 without prior authorization.
If the above is acceptable, please sign and return one copy of this letter.
If you have . ny questions, please do not hesitate to call.
