It is essential that all members of the police service remember that in the execution of their duties they act not for themselves but for the good of the 1 public. They shall respect and protect the rights of individuals and perform their duties with honesty, zeal, courage, discretion, fidelity, and sound judgment. Police officers must seek and preserve public confidence by demonstrating impartial enforcement of the law, being truthful and honest ' in all their official duties; and be offering of service and trust to all members of the public. Our broad philosophy must embrace a wholehearted determination to protect and support individual rights of all, while at all times providing for the security of persons and property in the community.
