R-2005- 116 A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the City Manager of the City of Yakima to execute an amendment to the architectural services agreement with Traho Architects, P.S., to provide additional architectural services concerning renovation of assembly facilities for and related to Yakima City Hall. WHEREAS, pursuant to City of Yakima Resolution No. R-2003-143, the City entered into an architectural services agreement with Traho Architects, P.S., regarding asbestos abatement of and renovation options for Yakima City Hall; and WHEREAS, City representatives are interested in exploring the possible renovation. of approximately 3,500 square feet of first floor tenant space in the Bank of America Banking Center located at 101 North Second Street, Yakima, Washington (immediately adjacent to the south side of City Hall; and WHEREAS, additional architectural services are required regarding this assembly facility renovation option for and related to Yakima City Hall; and WHEREAS, Traho Architects is willing to provide these services in accordance with the attached amendment to said agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Yakima to authorize execution of said amendment to the architectural services agreement with Traho Architects, P.S., to provide additional architectural services concerning renovation of assembly facilities for and related to Yakima City Hall, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached and incorporated amendment to the architectural services agreement with Traho Architects, P.S., to provide additional architectural services concerning renovation of assembly facilities for and related to Yakima City Hall. George, Mayor City Clerk June 15, 2005 AMENDMENT TO AIA Document B151-1997 Abbreviated Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Architect Dated November 18, 2003, for Continued Yakima City Hall Renovations Article 12—Other Conditions or Services This amendment to the above -referenced agreement provides new hourly rates and an extension to cover architectural and engineering services for the renovation of approximately 3,500 square feet of first floor tenant space in the Bank of America Banking Center located at 101 North Second Street, Yakima, Washington, as a further option for renovation of assembly facilities for and related to Yakima City Hall. Compensation for basic services will be based upon the State of Washington's Guidelines for Determining A/E Fees for Public Works Building Projects, Schedule B, including a 2% surcharge for remodeling. Compensation for specialty consultation for acoustical engineering, security system(s) and independent cost evaluation shall be based upon written acceptance of fee proposals for each of these categories of work. Compensation for all services required and provided under this amendment (including but not limited to architectural services, engineering services, specialty consultation services, and independent costs evaluation services) shall not exceed Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00).
