R 2007 - 79 A RESOLUTION declaring two approximately 10 -foot, plywood "School Crossing" signs to be surplus and authorizing its transfer to City of Selah, Public Works Department. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns two approximately 10 -foot, school crossing signs, which will not be used as Public Works operational signs; and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has no immediate or foreseeable use for the signs, which are surplus to the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Selah, Washington has sent a letter to the City of Yakima requesting a city of Yakima school crossing sign for use at Lince School; and WHEREAS, the signs have no real value; and; WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to transfer the two school crossing signs as surplus now rather than dispose of the signs at a later date, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares two approximately 10 -foot school crossing signs to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to transfer said signs to the City of Selah. The signs are made of plywood and do not meet the City's current standards, and were to be disposed of. The City of Selah has requested the signs because of the reflectivity improvement that would be possible if they were installed for Lince School in Selah.
