A RESOLUTION declaring one 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer Cleaner surplus to the
needs of the City of Yakima's Wastewater Division and authorizing the sale
of such equipment to the Town of Naches.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns one 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer Cleaner with
vehicle identification number 06432 A -27 -RL for which the City Wastewater Division has no
immediate or foreseeable use and which is surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the
Wastewater Division; and
WHEREAS, Titan Sales Group appraised the 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer Cleaner
at a trade-in value of $6,000; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has received a letter confirming the intentions of the
Town of Naches to purchase the 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer Cleaner for $10,000, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to
declare one 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer Cleaner surplus and to authorize the sale of said
equipment to the Town of Naches, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer
Cleaner surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima Wastewater Division and the City Manager
of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to accept the purchase of said
equipment by the Town of Naches as outlined in the attached and incorporated confirmation
letter. The funds received are to be directed to the Wastewater Operating Fund 473.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 6th day of November, 2007.

This letter is to state the Town of Naches is willing to purchase the 1993 Jet Sewer Model
#747, VIN 06432 A -27 -RL, and License No. 16307 D. The Town is willing to pay the
sum of $10,000.00 to the City of Yakima for the equipment.
The Town understands that the equipment must be deemed surplus by the City of Yakima
Council. The Town is willing to purchase the equipment in January of 2008.

The City of Yakima Wastewater Division has one 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer Cleaner
that was acquired in 1993 from Sewer Equipment Company. The Wastewater Division is no
longer in need of said equipment. The Town of Naches has submitted a letter of intent to
purchase the jet -sewer cleaner in January of 2008.
Staff respectfully requests that the 1993 Trailer Mounted Jet -Sewer Cleaner be declared
surplus and sold to the Town of Naches for the amount of $10,000 as detailed in the attached
letter. Please note that the warranty will be "AS IS." This offer is more favorable than the
proposal from Titan Sales Group indicating a trade value of only $6,000 (attached). Funds
realized from the sale are to be credited to the Yakima Wastewater Operating Fund 473.
