R-2008-59 A RESOLUTION declaring a Macro System Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor owned by the City of Yakima, Washington to be surplus to the needs of the Community Relations Division and authorizing its sale to the City of Toppenish, Washington. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns a Macro System Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor for which the City and the Community Relations Division has no immediate nor foreseeable use, and which is surplus to the needs of the City and the Community Relations Division ; and WHEREAS, the City of Toppenish, Washington has offered the reasonable purchase price of five -hundred dollars ($500) for the Macro System Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City to sell the Macro System Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor forthwith rather than offer it at public auction at a later date; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned Macro System Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the Community Relations Division and hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell said Macro System Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor to the City of Toppenish, Washington for five -hundred dollars ($500) plus sales tax. SUBMITTED BY: Randy Beehler, Community Relations Manager CONTACT PERSON/TELEPHONE: Randy Beehler, Community Relations Manager, 575-6092 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The Community Relations Division has determined that it has no foreseeable need nor use for a Macro Systems Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor now owned by the City of Yakima. The editor has been replaced with a more advanced Apple computer-based system with greatly improved capabilities. The City of Toppenish has offered to purchase the Macro Systems Casablanca Prestige Non - Linear Video Editor for five -hundred dollars (S500). Research perfoinied by Community Relations Division staff demonstrates that the City of Toppenish offer represents a fair and reasonable market value for the editor. If adopted by the City Council, the attached resolution would serve to declare the Macro Systems Casablanca Prestige Non -Linear Video Editor to be surplus and authorize its sale to the City of Toppenish.
