opportunity to support skleals on '(44 eels programs tfiat deriver vital and critical services by donating,
volunteering and raising awareness about senior fiunger and isolation; and
Wi EREAS learn-On-Wfieers programs— both congregate and fiome delivered, in Yakima
County (nave served our communities admirably for more than 50 years; and
tWFERE S, volunteers forsklears-On-Wfieers programs in Yakima County are tfie backbone
of the program and they not only deriver nutritious meals to seniors and individuals with disabilities
wfio are at significant riskof hunger and isolation, but afro caring concern and attention to tfieir
welfare; and
WIFEREAS, leafs-On-Wfieefs programs in Yakima County provide nutritious meals to
seniors throughout Yakima County tfiat fzefp tfiem maintain tfieir health and independence, thereby
preventing unnecessary falls, hospitalizations and/or premature institutionalization; and
'W'XEI E S, leafs-On-Wfieefs programs in Yakima County provide a powerful socialization
opportunity for millions of seniors to fzefp combat tfie negative health effects and economic
consequences of loneliness and isolation; and

Nation.
