A RESOLUTION fixing February 2, 2010, as the date of public hearing for the final
assessment roll for the Simpson Lane Sewer Local Improvement District
No. 1061
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima adopted Resolution No. R-2007-05
on January 9, 2007, declaring its intention to order certain local improvements to create a local
improvement district; and
WHEREAS, a hearing was held on February 20, 2007, and after due consideration the
Council adopted Ordinance No. 2007-02, ordering the improvements and creating Local
Improvement District No. 1061; and
WHEREAS, construction of the improvements within the LID No. 1061 is now complete
and the assessment roll for LID No. 1061 has been filed with the City Clerk, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
A hearing on the final assessment roll shall be held at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd 2010, in the
City Council Chambers in Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington. All persons who may desire
to object to such improvements are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at
such hearing. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of said hearing with the date of
the second publication to be at least fifteen days before the date thereof, to each owner or
reputed owner of any lot, tract, parcel of land, or other property in LID No. 1061 at the address
shown on the tax rolls of the County Treasurer.

be held at 7:00 pm on February 2, 2010 in the City of Yakima Council Chambers
to establish the Final Assessment Roll for the Simpson Lane Sewer LID #1061

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Council action on this Agenda Item would set 7:00 pm on February 2, 2010 as the date and
time for the final assessment roll hearing for the Simpson Lane Sewer LID.
The Simpson Lane Sewer Local Improvement District (LID) No. 1061 was formed to construct a
new sewer main to serve 82 parcels along 13th, 14111, -111,
13and 16th Streets between Prasch
Avenue and Mead Avenue. The project installed approximately 2,400 linear feet of 8 -inch PVC
Sanitary Sewer Pipe, approximately 3,080 linear feet of 10 -inch PVC Sanitary Sewer Pipe, and
approximately 2,170 linear feet of PVC Sanitary Sewer Pipe for side -sewer stubs, together with
all appurtenances, including but not limited to, manholes, cleanouts, pavement surface repair
and repaving the streets with a bituminous surface treatment.
he total cost of this project was $503,058.06. When the LID was established, it was decided
that any costs above the, then estimated cost of $484,191.54, would be paid by the Wastewater
Division. The amount of the $484,191.54 assessable total to be assessed for each parcel is
$5,904.78. Some property owners requested that their parcel receive more than one side
service. These additional side services added a total of $4,020 to the cost of the project, which
additional cost will be repaid by the respective property owners. In accord with the decision for
City Wastewater participation, the amount to be paid by the Wastewater Division is $14,846.52.
