Greg Copeland SUBJECT Cesar Abreu accomplishment Crime and Intelligence Analyst Supervisor Cesar Abreu was hired by the Yakima Police Department in November of 2008, as the Department's first step in moving towards crime analysis. Cesar had a strong background in military intelligence and served with the US Army for many years — including overseas assignments. The Yakima PD was Cesar's first experience with crime analysis and with intelligence analysis on the civilian (non - military) side. As such, he had to apply himself and go through a number of specific trammgs in order to become a certified crime analyst. He also has overseen the development of our crime analysis capabilities from the ground up He has worked hard for the past two years and has now become certified in his field. Cesar has also gone out of his way to establish contacts with many other individuals in his field, from a variety of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies These • contacts have proven to be very beneficial tD YPD over the past couple of years We consider this to be an exceptional accomplishment for a department of our size, and we recognize that the certification is the result of a lot of hard work put forth by Cesar •
