THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7, 1976
The City Council met in session on this date at the Holiday Inn
Restaurant Yakima, Washington at 12:00 Noon.
Council members present at the meeting were Mayor Betty L. Edmondson,
Ralph Holbrook, W. K. "Pete" Moore, Nadine Walker and Gordon Wonder.
Councilmen Jean Allard and Dr. Bill Simmons absent.
The Council discussed progress on the Capital Theatre and its con-
nection with the Public Works Employment Act of 1976 and requested
an up -date of work in progress.
General discussion was held on the Community Relations Officer
position. The City Manager advised them that the recruitment and
selection process for permanent employment could take two months.
The Council then discussed the advisability of appointing an interim
officer and agreed that someone should be considered. It was then
MOVED by Holbrook, seconded by Walker to enter into an Executive
Session to discuss possible appointments to the interim Community
Relations Officer position: carried, Edmondson, Holbrook, Moore,
Walker and Wonder voting aye by voice vote. Allard and Simmons
absent.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the
meeting adjourned at 1:30 P.M.
