HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/27/1976 Adjourned Meeting 310 AUGUST 26, 1976 AUGUST 27, 1976 ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING - THURSDAY, AUGUST 26, 1976 - - The City Council met in session on this date at 12:00 'goOn in the Holiday Inn Restaurant, Yakima, Washington. Councilmen present at the meeting were Jean R. Allard, Mayor ,Betty L. Edmondson, W. K. "Pete" Moore, Nadine Walker, and Gordon 'Wonder. Councilmen absent were Ralph Holbrook and Dr. Bill !Simmons. 'The Council discussed the following subjects: :1. Meeting with DARC concerning Downtown Project - set for Friday, August 27. 2. List of pending items. !3. Executive search for new City Manager. 4. Halverson alley vacation. 15. It was MOVED by Moore, seconded by Walker that out-of-state travel for Fred Stouder and Ken Thompson be approved: carried, Allard, Edmondson, Moore, Walker and Wonder voting aye by voice vote. Holbrook and Simmons absent. iThere being no further business to come before the Council, it was MOVED by Moore, seconded by Walker that this meeting be adjourned to then meet at the hour of 12:00 Noon in the Holiday Inn Restaurant On Friday, August 27, 1976. ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING - FRIDAY, AUGUST 27, 1976 The City Council met jointly in session on this date with the 'Downtown Advisory Redevelopment Committee at 12:00 Noon in the 'Holiday Inn Restaurant, Yakima, Washington. ,Councilmen present at the meeting were Jean R. Allard, Mayor 'Betty L. Edmondson, W. K. "Pete" Moore, Nadine Walker, and Gordon ;Wonder. Councilmen absent were Ralph Holbrook and Dr. Bill 'Simmons. Also present to express their views were approximately 30 businessmen and concerned citizens. This meeting was held at the request of the DARC Committee to !discuss the proposed Downtown Redevelopment Plan. !After discussion, it was MOVED by Moore, seconded by Walker to approve the CBD Plan in existence, which reaffirms the Council decision made on the final CBD design at the public hearing on April 12, 1976, and to call for bids: carried, Allard, Edmondson, Moore, Walker and Wonder voting aye by voice vote. Holbrook and Simmons absent. 'There being no further business to come before the Council, it was MOVED by Walker, seconded by Moore that this meeting be adjourned at the hour of 2:00 p.m.: carried, Allard, Edmondson, !Moore, Walker and Wonder voting aye by voice vote.
