Chairman Neil McClure called the meeting to order at 10 AM.
1. Correction and approval of Minutes from December 12, 2018.
Corrections were made to reflect correct title of staff members. Neil M. pointed out
that under part "4 Cowiche Canyon Trail update" the last sentence should reflect that
the city does not own the right of way adjacent to State Hi -way 12 west of 40th Ave
extending westward to a possible connection to the Lower Cowiche Canyon Trail near
Painted Rocks.
2. Pedestrian Master Plan Stakeholders meeting.
Neil M. lead a discussion on the status of preparation for the stakeholders meeting. It
was agreed to move the meeting date to the last week in January (January 31st) at 5:30
PM. Discussion lead to choosing the 2nd floor conference room as the venue.
Several new stakeholder organizations were identified and Neil M. will organize the list
for Joseph C. to distribute. Contents of the invitation were discussed and addition of the
Bellingham Pedestrian Master "Executive Summary" and key informative quotes will be
added. Target January 15th to deliver finished invitation to Joseph C. for distribution.
Format of the meeting was determined to include: Listing of the Seven major points for
a plan on the white board, provide an agenda for meeting participants, explain benefits
of Pedestrian Master Plan to participants, ask stakeholders to attend city council
meeting and/or write supportive letters when council acts on committee request for
funding of plan.
3. Public Service Announcement update.
Sean D. asked that committee members review and rank PSA's to help bring the project
forward.
