YAKIMA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION CITY OF YAKIMA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Minutes for Meeting of May 23, 2018 CaII to Order Commission member Kenmotsu called the meeting to order at approximately 5:30 P.M. New Business Cynthia Hall, Nancy Kenmotsu, Alixanne Pinkerton Leslie Wahl (excused) Quorum present Historic Preservation Liaisons Trevor Martin, Colleda Monick Jason White (absent) A. Review & Approve Minutes The meeting minutes from April 26, 2018 were presented for discussion. A motion was made by Ms. Hall to approve as submitted, Ms. Pinkerton seconded. Motion carried. B. Farmers Market June 3, 2018 has been confirmed for participation. Ms. Wahl will be the direct market contact. Mr. Martin will provide brochures and commission applications to have on hand at the booth. Future market participation dates should be selected soon in order to secure space. C. Grant The grant for the nomination of historic registration for Fruit Row has been selected for presentation. City staff will present to the DAHP on June 12, 2018 in Olympia. D. Naches Parkway City staff is still working towards scheduling an exploratory meeting with residents of the Naches Ave Parkway and the Barge Chestnut Neighborhood Association. Historic Cemeteries Ms. Kenmotsu made note that DAHP has announced the availability of grant funds for historic cemeteries and noted that the City Parks Department is planning on applying for funding for the Tahoma Cemetery. More information can be found at www.dah .wa.gov, the deadline for applications is June 29, 2018. IV. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at approximately 5:45 p.m. to the next scheduled meeting on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
