YAKIMA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION CITY OF YAKIMA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Minutes for Meeting of March 8, 2018 Call to Order Commission vice Chair Wahl called the meeting to order at approximately 5:30 P.M. II. Roll Call Present: Cynthia Hall, Leslie Wahl, Alixanne Pinkerton Absent: Whitney Stohr (excused), Karl Pasten (excused), Jacob Clay, Nancy Kenmotsu (excused) Quorum: No quorum present Staff: Historic Preservation Liaisons Trevor Martin, Colleda Monick III. New Business A. Review & Approve Minutes With no quorum present, approval of the November, December, and February minutes will be postponed until the next meeting. B. Discuss Grant Opportunities Department of Archeology and Historic Preservation CLG grant applications for 2018 are due on April 27. Commission discussed the following 3 projects for grant application viability; Fruit Row, Naches Ave, and Barge Chestnut (Phase 2). Mr. Martin to provide additional information at the next meeting regarding estimated project costs. IV. Other Business General Discussion of other items not on the agenda None. V. Citizen Participation Three community members of the Naches Ave neighborhood spoke in favor of moving forward with plans to establish the neighborhood as a historic district, as Commission Members 1 Whitney Stohr • Nancy Kenmotsu • Karl Pasten • Leslie Wahl • Cynthia Hall • Jacob Clay • Alixanne Pinkerton well as their willingness to assist in community outreach and data collection; Dawn King, Tami Brewer, and Jim Bell. VI. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at approximately 6:30 p.m. to the next scheduled March meeting on Wednesday, March 28, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
