Minutes for Meeting on May 15, 2019

A. Certificate of Appropriateness Review — 2605 W Chestnut Ave
Bruce Rogers described his proposal for replacing the garage at his existing
residence that falls within the Barge Chestnut Historic District, and submitted
photo exhibits.
After discussion, it was motioned by Commissioner Edmonson and seconded by
Vice -Chair Hall to approve the certificate of appropriateness request as
submitted; the motion carried unanimously.
B. Member Search
Martin reported that outreach efforts are ongoing to recruit more members to the
Historic Preservation Commission.
In other business, Martin made the following announcements:
• Martin was invited to give a presentation in Olympia, WA in June on the
Naches Parkway project;
• Spencer Howard of Northwest Vernacular has submitted the first draft of
the "fruit row" analysis; and
• Howard will be attending a Historic Preservation Commission meeting in
June.
