YAKIMA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION CITY OF YAKIMA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Minutes for Meeting on January 23, 2019 Call to Order Vice Chair Wahl called the meeting to order at approximately 5:30 P.M. New Business Leslie Wahl, Paul Edmondson, Alixanne Pinkerton, Cynthia Hall Nancy Kenmotsu Quorum present Historic Preservation Liaisons Trevor Martin Jason White (Absent) A. Approval of Minutes The Commission discussed the minutes from the November 8, 2018 Historic Preservation meeting, and approved the minutes 4-0. B. Grant Update Trevor Martin, Associate Planner, gave a brief status update on the grant with Northwest Vernacular. The agreement between the City and Northwest Vernacular has been signed. C. DAHP Grant 2020 City Staff discussed that DAHP will soon be opening their next grant cycle for 2020. The HPC discussed the different grant opportunities that may be present within the City of Yakima such as the possible expansion of the BCNA and a Naches Parkway Corridor. Staff is going to reach out to some different property owners and interest groups within the City in an attempt to gauge the level of interest. D. Goals for the Year The HPC discussed some of the goals they would like to the accomplish in 2019 such as a continued presence at the Yakima Downtown Farmers Market.
