ITEM BUDGETED: STRATEGIC PRIORITY: APPROVED FOR SUBMITTAL: City Manager STAFF RECOMMENDATION: BOARD/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: ATTACHMENTS: Description Upload Date Type Flealth rater 1!V k pr la anon 7/15/ 019 r Me o 2 CITY OE YAlIUtA Pc&OCLA51tATIOW E1REAS, Yakima Weighborhood health Services community clinics are a vital pan of our community's health care systems; and BERMS, our community's health centers expand access to quality health care for alt people, helping to contain costs by encouraging prevention andintegrating the delivery of primary care with outreach, patient education, translation, and other enabling services; and WHEREAS, during National-Community Iealth Center Week, we annually recognize the importance of these health centers for their role in providing affordable and accessible care; and ERMS, community health centers also play a significant role as major local employers and an important source of economic growth; and WI-PERMS, Yakima Neighborhood Wealth Services, partnering with the other community health centers and many agencies in (Yakima County, has led the effort to help uninsuredresidents enroll in a health insurance plan that meets their needs and their budget; and WHEREAS, Yakima.lreighforhood.Ilealth Services has grown from a staff of five caring for about 20 patients to more than 90,000 patient visits a year up and down the Yakima 'Valley, NOW, 2.*K�E CE'FOR E, I, Kathy Coffey, I4layor of the City of(Yakima and on behalf of the Yakima City Council, do hereby proclaim the weekoffugust 4-10, 2019 as "NATIONAL WEAL CEYFE12 fl" in the city of(Yakima and urge our community to recognize the multitude of ways in which community health centers help those in need.
