Nominee's significant contribution to your team (250 words or less):
I'd like to nominate Walt Fridley for recognition of outstanding performance and
demonstrating excellent customer service above and beyond his regular job
assignments. On January 8, 2019 Walt was dispatched to a residence to investigate an
odor complaint. The homeowner informed Walt that the gas company had been
contacted and had investigated the foul odor. The gas company advised them to
contact the City's Wastewater Division because the home did not have a gas leak and
that the foul odor smelled like sewer. Walt investigated the City's sewer system and
ruled out the system as the source of the odor. Instead of simply informing the customer
that it was not a sewer smell, Walt took the initiative to ask questions and tour the
premises with the customer. Eventually, Walt's determination to resolve the issue led
him out to the back porch where he observed a leaking propane BBQ, which he
promptly corrected for the resident.
