ITEM TITLE: Alert Yakima Emergency Notification System (Everbridge)

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Everbridge is an Emergency Notification System that the City of Yakima, as well as all of Yakima
County, uses to notify residents of emergent situations. Chief Markham is going to give a brief
presentation on how the system operates and how residents can sign up to get these alerts.

Everbridge is an alert system that allows
Yakima County to contact you during an
emergency.
When you sign up you can:
• Choose how to be notified of emergencies
Options include text, email, cell phone, home
land line, work phone, or Mobile App
• Pick what kind of notifications you want to
receive
• Specify particular times during the day when
you would prefer to block notifications
When an emergency occurs, Yakima County
will notify you with updates, instructions on
where to go, what to do or what not to do,
who to contact, and other important
information.
