Items scheduled to be considered by the Council at tonight's meeting will be moved to the Council's February 19th regular meeting agenda. "Because of significant snowfall overnight and a forecast showing the potential for more precipitation today and below freezing temperatures by later this afternoon, out of an abundance of caution the decision has been made to cancel tonight's Council meeting," said Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore. Most City of Yakima offices will close at 4:00 pm today (about an hour earlier than normal in most instances) to allow City employees extra time to get home safely. Yakima Transit and Yakima Refuse are running on delayed route schedules today. The Yakima Police Department, the Yakima Fire Department, and the SunComm 911/emergency dispatch center continue to operate as normal.
