SPECIAL STUDY SESSION
NOVEMBER 21, 1977
The City Council met in session on this date at 3:00 PM at the Yakima
Valley Regional Library, Yakima, Washington.
Councilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Betty L. Edmondson, Jean
Allard, Ralph Holbrook, W. K. "Pete" Moore, Dr. Bill Simmons, Nadine
Walker and Gordon Wonder.
City Manager George Eastman explained the format of the preliminary
budget for 1978. City Manager Eastman also reviewed the budget by
departments, answering Council members questions. Council member Nadine
Walker suggested that the budget hearing scheduled for tonight be continued
for a couple of weeks since the Council members received their copy of
the preliminary budget just last Friday night, and the budgets were only
available to the public today. She also stated that she felt more study
sessions were needed before the budget hearing.
A study session on the budget was scheduled for the regular study session
on Monday, November 28, 1977, at 1:30 PM and on Thursday, December 1,
1977 at 2:00 PM.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it was MOVED
by Moore, seconded by Walker that this special meeting be adjourned at
the hour of 5:00 PM: carried, Allard, Edmon.son, Holbrook, Moore,
Simmons, Walker and Wonder. Aff;
