ADJOURNED MEETING -- JOINT MEETING
BOUNDARY REVIEW BOARD
The City Council met in session on this date at 11:00 A.M. with the
members of the Yakima County Boundary Review Board to discuss clarifica-
tion of the Boundary Review Board's policies regarding the processing of
annexations. Council members present were Mayor Betty L. Edmondson,
Henry Beauchamp, Lynn Carmichael, Shirley Doty, and Don Hinman. Council
members Lynn Buchanan and Bruce Crest absent.
Max Vincent, Chairman of the Boundary Review Board, read the August 12,
1980, letter that was sent to the Board from Mayor Betty L. Edmondson
regarding the problem the City was having concerning annexations which
have to be reviewed and approved by the Yakima County Boundary Review
Board. Mr. Vincent outlined the procedure in which an annexation is
processed in regards to the Board, as explained in the letter and at-
tachment sent to the Mayor, dated September 19, 1980.
A general discussion followed regarding annexations, with questions from
both the City Council and Boundary Review Board members being clarified.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:05 P.M. to then meet on November 12,
1980, at 3:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers for the purpose of budget
review.
