PWFEREJ LS, adjunct and part-time facufty teach nearly half of the classes and make
up 67 percent of the teaching faculty at our two-year colleges; and
PWFEREAS, the use of adjunct and part-time facufty is increasing at four-year higher
education institutions; and
PWFEREAS, these faculty members are highly-quaffed and experienced; but receive
Cower salaries and Cackjo 6 security; and
PWFEREAS, adjunct and part-time facufty affow institutions of higher(earning to
offer variety in their courses and programs, and to 6e responsive to the quickly-changing
Landscape awaiting graduates; and
P1FEREAS, adjunct and part-time facufty bring a multitude of talents, skills, and
areas of expertise to their teaching; and
PJFEREAS, such faculty should 6e recognized, awarded, and fufCy appreciated for
their dedication and service to students in Washington State;
